High Purity Lead free Solid Solder Wires are manufactured from a grade of solder alloy with purity levels meeting all the requirements of both national and international standards.
Lead-Free Solid Wire is supplied in two alloys – 99C & 96S. Available in both 0.7mm and 1.2 mm diameter supplied on 50 gm reels.

99C Technical Information:
99C is a common lead free alloy ideal for all soldering applications involving brass and copper components. The alloy will flow well, provide a strong joint and give a bright finish to your model. Suitable liquid fluxes would be Bakers Soldering Fluid and TSC 920 for both brass and copper. Fluxes for other metals may be available.

96S Technical Information:
Grade 96S is known as a ‘silver bearing alloy”, a eutectic of pure tin and silver with similar properties to that of pure tin, in that it is bright, shiny, hardly tarnishes, is lead-free and non-toxic. However, in comparison to pure tin solder, 96S strength is far superior. It has higher electrical conductivity than other soft solders and has a melting point approximately 40°C higher than Tin / Lead 60/ 40 at 221°C.
96S finds many uses in the food and pharmaceutical industries for soldering of stainless-steel parts and fabrications of which it works exceedingly well. For this application you will need to use one of our specialist fluxes namely A8 flux to create the solder joint.
The addition of silver into this alloy does not suppress absorption of silver from silver plated or metallisation’s into the solder. This solder alloy is not recommended for the soldering of gold parts.
